Internship is one of the most important experiences needed in the student life. In this fast and competitive world one must be ahead and different from others to lead and achieve goal in short period of time. Internship allows the student to apply practical knowledge of what they have learned in school. There are two types of internship - paid and unpaid internship. Both of them are equally important as they will be providing valuable experience which can be added towards resume. Here are some benefits of completing an internship.
- Building a resume- First and foremost thing important in student life is their resume. Imagine you need to apply for a job without having experience and with only college degree. In today's day and age without an experience it's very hard to get a job. Getting some internship will add valuable skills which will stand out from the crowd. It will also show your interests toward the industry. Try to start internship sooner so that you will have chance to complete more internships before you graduate. More you complete internship, fuller your resume will be which will attract future employers.
- Networking- Internship provides you the opportunity to meet and attend company events. In the meeting and events you are able to interact with colleagues in the professional manner and gain new connections. Now a days, you can also add them through professional social media networking site "LinkedIn". Internship will also give you a chance to make a mentor who can guide you towards your professional career and gain references for future job.
- Real Experience while Studying- Interns will get the real practical knowledge of what they have been studying in school. They will get to work in the environment with professional people. Interns can explore more broadly what they have been studying which will give an option to choose different career path.
- Improve in confidence level- Work done in an office will not be same as school. In an office one must prioritize which work needs to be completed first, organize and plan the work. Once the intern will hone skills they will relax and focus energy to excel at work.
- Higher Salary- Last but not the least one of the main factor that drives us to work is money. Without any experience it's hard to get a job and even if we land with a job salary won't be good enough. However, if we have an internship experience there will be more chances of higher wage.
